Nassau County ORC Meeting

On behalf on Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder you are invited to a meeting of security professionals who work with the private sector whose businesses are engaged in retail sales, mall properties and members of the Nassau County Police Department.

This year we have seen an uptick in Organized Retail Crimes (ORC) and would like to partner with you in developing strategies to curtail and deter these thefts. Nassau County Police Department has developed a plan and assigned dedicated personnel to contact and track these thefts. Each Precinct Detective Squad will have a supervisor dedicated to working with private sector investigators/security personnel to identify recidivists, crews and locations that are involved in these crimes.

By working together, we are looking to reduce the incidents of theft, increase safety for security personnel and continue a safe and secure shopping experience for our residents. We are looking to partner with and expand our reach to security professionals who have businesses in the greater Nassau County area.

We will be discussing the current crime trends, recidivists who are wanted, or have revoked access to businesses and property. A plan for information sharing between the Police Department and our privates sector partners (LEARN- METROORCA-AUROR) will be discussed. Additionally, this meeting presents an opportunity for the police department and our private sector partners to discuss best practices, information sharing and physical security.
